Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Procurement Specialist.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

· Education: Post-Secondary Degree or diploma in business, supply chain, science, or engineering

· Experience in lieu of formal education is accepted - at least 5 years of supply chain experience in the Aerospace, Shipbuilding/Shipping/Shipyard, Automotive, Construction, Heavy Manufacturing or the Defence industry.

· Experience: A minimum of 3 years of supply chain procurement experience in Aerospace, Shipbuilding/Shipping/Shipyard, Automotive, Construction, Heavy Manufacturing or the Defence industry

· Previous exposure to market analytics and insights

· Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.

· Strong sense of urgency to complete tasks

· Strong analytical skills

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· High attention to detail

· Fluency in Microsoft Office

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and improve supplier quality, cost, and delivery performance.

· Issue Purchase Orders for material

· Provide advice on contractual claims.

· Execute contracts and amendments.

· Execution of negotiated contract through Irving Shipbuilding's ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) & MRP (Material Resource Planning) systems.

· Lead Supplier performance reviews

· Analyze market conditions (ex: pricing, availability, lead-time, and capacity)

· Support new product introduction activities.

· Apply the principles of continuous improvement to the design and development of supply chain processes.

· Undertake cost analysis for direct material and services.
