Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is seeking a Planning, Team Lead.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia. The primary language of work is English. Qualifications:

· Education required: Post-secondary diploma in a relevant field

· Experience required: 5 years+ of experience in a planning and/or production environment.

· 5 years+ of experience in a Shipbuilding industry.

· High levels of familiarization with ship construction terminology.

· Ability to read drawings specific to new build ship construction.

· Experience in aspects of electrical system and mechanical systems such as electrical generators, electrical distribution networks, control systems, switchboards, hydrotesting, flushing and instrumentation.

· Experience of Scheduling with logic links in scheduling software (preferable P6 Primavera or AVEVA).

· Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with multiple conflicting priorities.

· Strong communication and delivery.

· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro.

All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Key Responsibilities:

· Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule activities of planners.

· Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.

· Prepare production and other reports.

· Manage creation of job pack schedule in accordance with the integrated master schedule and time fence rules.

· Work closely with production control to feedback any updates/changes to the job to ensure continuous improvement.

· Valid and check Detail Planner work to ensure quality in schedule and Job Pack creation and measures to improve productivity and product quality.

· Work with Business functions to resolve issues and ensure planners needs and requirements are resolved prior to planner start.

· Build Job Pack in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule and Work Package schedule in AVEVA.

· Communicate schedules and requirements to stakeholders via schedule reviews, schedule delivery meetings including facilitation of Pre-Build and After Build Reviews with Customer and stakeholders.

· Create Jobs Packages to enable Production to efficiency execute the work, including Engineering drawings sets and applicable VFI.

· Integrate Mechanical and Electrical Systems within the Detail Planning network in accordance with system activation requirements, connecting the Build Plan to the Test and Trials Network via logic.

· Manage System and Milestone Details Schedules through phase to completion. Extract and communicate critical path. Foresee and communicate risks with risk solutions.

· Develop Individual System and Milestone Schedules identifying all entities and requirements. Including Tanks, Hydro Testing and Flushing and Systems.
