We are looking for an Analyst, Security & Intelligence to be responsible for identifying behavioral patterns and trends in high-risk areas and making recommendations to overcome barriers to security to ensure company employees and assets are safeguarded. ISA is responsible for supporting DDMI Security objectives by establishing and maintaining a security risk profile. ISA will provide security assurance and integrity to people, processes, and systems through the completion of ongoing threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments.

Located in Yellowknife Production Splitting Facility (PSF) and reporting to the Security & Intelligence Supervisor, the incumbent works a five days on/two days off rotation.

This role is a great opportunity to join the Diavik team. Duties will include the following:

  • Monitor activity in high-risk areas throughout the Product Splitting Facility, using the Security Management System and other security tools.
  • Identify and analyze behavioral patterns and anomalies focusing on risk.
  • Collect and input accurate and complete security information into the Security Management System in a standardized manner.
  • Use the Security Management System to process the data and prepare clear, concise, and complete reports.
  • Assist in the security audit process by reviewing the rules-based control system and providing reports that summarize findings and related problems or issues.
  • Respond to, manage, and monitor all alarm, emergency, and other unusual incidents as well as operational issues that require Security's attention.
  • Conduct and perform searches in designated areas in a professional manner that is considerate of the dignity of employees and visitors.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as required to expected standards.
  • Provide detailed and thorough investigative support as required, including covering control and dispatch when necessary.
  • Assist security, as and when needed, to witness operators during the handling of diamonds.
  • Assist security, as and when necessary, to witness both the delivery and shipment of diamonds by contracted armored security service.
  • Obtain open-source information the Internet, social media, Court House, and other sources as necessary.
  • Travel to the Diavik Mine site may be required on occasion

What you'll bring

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • A clean criminal record and responsible credit history is required.
  • Related post-secondary education such as a Diploma or Degree in Criminology, Security Management, etc. would be considered an asset.
  • Open-Source Intelligence Certification would be considered an asset.
  • Several years of experience in law enforcement, security, or the military that includes exposure to surveillance and security monitoring systems would be considered an asset.
  • Knowledge to case manage investigative assignments and basic ability to apply professional investigative tools and methodologies would be considered an asset.
  • Basic ability to interview, take statements, collect evidence, conduct surveillance, and review records.
  • Strong understanding, interpretation, and compliance with relevant legislation as it applies to electronic surveillance.
  • Understanding the capacity of diamond security surveillance equipment and systems and their application.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 23Kg (50lbs) is required.
  • Availability to fly to Diavik Mine Site on occasion is required.
  • Valid NWT Class 5 driver's license or provincial equivalent.

Northern residency and experience working in a cross-cultural environment, coupled with knowledge of the unique challenges and opportunities presented to those living in the North, are assets.
