POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Associate is required to effectively manage all projects under their supervision in order to provide high quality services to clients for private and public sector projects. The Senior Associate will work on a variety of tasks related to Building and Fire Code services, including Code application. Additionally, the Senior associate is capable of securing projects for LRI, maintaining a full project workload for themselves and engaging less experienced staff on their projects. The Senior Associate will provide knowledge, mentorship, and peer review to junior staff. This position requires working closely with clients to assist with their fire protection and life safety needs.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The Senior Associate will be asked to provide the following services to Clients and other staff members:

  • Manage project staffing, profitability, and timeliness
  • Project administration
  • Client consultation (i.e. telephone, email, and letter)
  • Attending client meetings and meetings with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
  • Site review
  • Drawing review
  • Correspondence preparation (i.e. reports and letters)
  • Project budget and proposal preparation
  • Manage client expectations
  • Deploy staff resources
  • Participate in the development of junior staff
  • Peer review
  • Identify and actively pursue future business opportunities to meet Code Group and Corporate objectives
  • Contribute to marketing efforts as requested
  • Assist Finance team with project billing


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in a role pertaining to Canadian Building and/or Fire Code
  • University/College degree or diploma related to Fire Safety, Engineering, or similar
  • Professional designation (P.Eng., LET, or similar) is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of fire protection, life safety, Codes, standards and best practices
  • Technically oriented; good analytical and organizational skills; attention to detail; able to complete tasks and projects in established timelines
  • Past experience with fire alarm and/or suppression system design, installation and/or testing is considered an asset
  • Able to obtain government security clearance
  • Self-starter that exhibits a high level of initiative and resourcefulness
  • An individual with high standards who holds themselves accountable
  • Versatile and able to manage varying workloads and competing priorities
  • Ability to establish positive relationships with project team members and Clients
  • Aptitude towards mentorship and knowledge sharing is an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
