RVA is actively seeking an Engineering Designer to join their Electrical team in various locations (Toronto, Halton, Niagara, London, Sudbury and Ottawa). This position will provide support to projects for Toronto head office as well as all branch offices.

Duties:

  • Help prepare and coordinate working construction drawings (plans, sections and details using Revit and/or AutoCAD). Flexible ability to work in 2D or 3D.
  • Perform load analysis and equipment sizing calculations under guidance of senior engineer.
  • Produce CAD plans and Revit electrical models from Process/Mechanical /Architectural drawings and able to maintain drafting standard.
  • Perform site visits for electrical data gathering, condition assessment and field inspections.
  • Works closely with project managers and other disciplines to plan and prepare construction drawings and provide support as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned/required and appropriate to this position.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
  • 0-2 years' electrical engineering experience is preferred; new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to read and interpret multi-discipline engineering drawings is required.
  • Working knowledge in Revit 2015 and newer versions.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2015 and newer versions.
  • Must be a fast learner and be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve.
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a project team with a positive attitude towards their work, colleagues and clients.
  • Must have a strong work ethic with the desire to learn and grow.
  • Must have a valid Driving license and ability to independently travel to project sites.
