Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare layouts and specification for lighting, electrical distribution (single line diagrams), emergency power distribution, fire alarm, wiring diagrams, riser diagrams, cable, and panel schedules,
  • Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software such as AutoCAD and Revit MEP,
  • Assess engineering requirements, and create production drawings to support project standards,
  • Review products and shop drawings to confirm they adhered to project requirements,
  • Liaise and coordinate with clients, other consultants, and contractors,
  • Any associated administration as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Post-secondary Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering required,
  • Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) an asset,
  • 3+ years of work experience drafting HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems required,
  • Demonstrated experience working on various retail/commercial building projects,
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles,
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Safety Codes,
  • Able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization,
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills.
