Electrician

Reporting to the facility Maintenance Supervisor, you will install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. This position will involve working on equipment such as electrical transmission lines, motors, generators, distribution and plant equipment. You may also conduct preventive maintenance programs and direct electrical employees.

Key Accountabilities

· Oversee required inspections of electrical systems to ensure compliance with Ontario Electrical Standards Act

· Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations

· Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components as needed

· Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance

Minimum Requirements

· Technical school training and has completed the apprenticeship program

· Licensed electrician (442A)

· Minimum two years' experience

· Ability to troubleshoot and determine resolutions when encountering malfunctions in equipment
