Description:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will provide technical planning, resource scheduling and allocation, cost estimate and control for maintenance related tasks and projects; supervise and provide technical direction to a multi-disciplinary team of powerhouse operators (including Millwrights, Electricians). Team consists of approximately 24 tradespeople. Location - Guelph, ON.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical planning, scheduling and cost control assistance to maintenance, production and various other groups
  • Daily supervision of all maintenance tradespersons and operations of all utilities, ensure compliance to all safety and quality requirements
  • Develop final work sequences, cost estimates and resource allocation.
  • Provide technical direction to staff, identify and resolve problems and recommending improvements in the planning process.
  • Develops preventive maintenance schedules and ensures routine maintenance schedules are adhered to
  • Ensure compliance to health and safety, food safety, and environmental standards at all times
  • Ensure all parts and all services are made readily available
  • Maintain strong relationships with employees by motivating to increase plant production.
  • Interact with contractors, manufacturers and vendors.
  • Ensure all contractors meet safety requirements
  • Track and participate in the development of the annual maintenance budget, while respecting and developing annual maintenance budget for labour and production equipment, utilities, property and building.
  • Support capital expense project installations
  • Organize and plan the annual shutdown with maintenance team
  • Lead safety initiatives in the department and throughout the facility. Ensure compliance to all safety standards
  • Ensure key operational targets are met (brewing, packaging, logistics) through exceptional customer service and maintenance support
  • Take an active role in department re-engineering and advancement of more proactive maintenance strategies (RCM/TPM etc.)
  • Work with the maintenance planning function to accomplish all PM execution, machine maintenance and plant improvements
  • Assist in the procurement of materials as needed
  • Act as backup utility supervisor
  • Perform other related duties, as required

Requirements:

  • Valid trade license or engineering degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of related experience with at least 2 years supervisory experience leading a team of multi-disciplined trades in a unionized environment
  • Experience with reliability centered maintenance (RCM) an asset
  • Experience with maintaining Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
  • Computer literate; must have a good understanding of Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • An effective team player with strong leadership skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate values compatible with the organization

Work Conditions:

  • Travel may be required for training
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required
  • Perform work in a production environment
