Job Title: Supervisor, Stores

The Stores Supervisor is responsible for the physical custody and accuracy of inventory records for component items, assemblies, and/or finished goods in a single stockroom area. In addition, supervise the activities of stockroom personnel.

Performance Expectations

· Serve as a central, coordination resource for purchasing consumable tooling and resolving problems with products or possible pricing in conjunction with the Materials Manager.

· Directly responsible for purchasing and scheduling releases of blanket orders.

· Establish and maintain procedures in order to control consumable costs.

· Vendor contact - negotiate for best price, service and quality.

· Pricing and ordering - locating suppliers and making contact to establish price and stock checks.

· Inventory control.

· Have contact with vendor to inform of problems and resolution.

· Order any new tooling.

· Maintaining computerized inventory control system in conjunction with manual systems.

· Monitor daily duties of the Tool Crib Attendant.

· Maintain and co-ordinate all Requests for Quotations.

· Verify receipt of correct types and quantities of products by scanning labels on packaging.

· Plan work processes and schedules to ensure full use of all equipment and workers.

· Total and approve estimates and invoices for materials ordered.

· Select suppliers for fabrication materials, tools and shop supplies.

Credentials

· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

· Previous experience in purchasing and production planning/inventory control.

· Knowledge of NAFTA and customs requirements considered an asset.

· Ability to use basic computer applications such as AS400 and Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

· Use computer-operated machinery such as print delivery slips using computerized printers.

· Able to read and identify hazard symbols and risk phrases on Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System labels.

Desired Characteristics

· Demonstrate communication skills by discussing daily operations with co-workers and material properties and other technical matters.

· Possess leadership skills to coordinate work processes for material handlers, machinists and others to ensure customers' orders are completed on time.
