What to Expect

Tesla Toronto Automation is seeking an Associate Manager, Electrical Assembly to be part of a world class team that is responsible for designing and building automation equipment supplied to Tesla Factories. This energetic, skilled, cost-conscious, team-oriented individual will manage a team of technicians and supervisors ensuring that they perform at a high level while meeting the needs of the production floor. They will performance manage their team to generate the highest value from every employee while maintaining a high level of technical ability and driving towards quality and schedule

What You'll Do
  • Manage and grow a high performing, diverse team capable of consistently delivering high quality workmanship
  • Support the hiring and training process of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Development of project plans, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets
  • Collaborate with the design team, project management, and engineers to review plans schedules, specifications, and drawings including resolving design clashes
  • Drive improvement activities across the shift to increase team knowledge and capability
  • Provide support for new equipment installation, startup, and hand over Improve preventative maintenance activities to decrease overall downtime
  • Conduct regular project meetings to discuss progress, milestones, and upcoming activities

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, relevant experience, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience as well as general manufacturing processes and automation build experience, including electrical and/or controls systems
  • Strong knowledge of automation equipment build practices, codes, regulations, and safety protocols
  • Must demonstrate reliability, initiative, and desire to learn
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills along with strong attention to detail, flexibility, and prioritization
  • In-depth knowledge of Electrical Standards (NFPA79, National Electric code, UL508A) and Safety standards (ANSI/ RIA15.06, OSHA)
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally, must have and maintain a valid passport
