Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Transportation team, based in the Markham, ON office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Assist with design of steel, concrete, and wood structures
  • Assist in the preparation of contract documents for projects
  • Work with engineers collaboratively, structural engineers and various other disciplines engineers
  • Participate in design meetings with our owner/clients and other consultants
  • Participate in construction site meetings
  • Undertake structure inspections including bridges, retaining walls and culverts as part of our OSIM responsibilities
  • Assist with the development of project proposals.
  • Conduct site visits during construction to review work for general compliance to structural drawings and contract document

What your experience and abilities look like

  • Undergraduate Degree in Civil Engineering (structures focus preferred) from a recognized University (Masters of Engineering considered an asset)
  • 1 to 3 years' experience in structural engineering such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, and wood design relating to foundations, buildings and other structures
  • Registered with PEO as an EIT
  • Proficient experience with CAD software
  • Knowledge of structural analysis software
  • Proficient with MS Office software
  • Experience with MS Project or similar project scheduling software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment, and individual environment with little supervision
  • Self-motivated, innovative, creative individual with initiative
