The Carpenter Helper is located in Meaford, Ontario and typically reports directly to the Structure Supervisor. Their primary focus is to provide support and assistance to the Structure Supervisor.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Understands the correct use, safety and maintenance of hand and power tools related to this type of work.

• Orders materials required for individual tasks

• Constructs, issues and receives target inventory

• Repairs and replaces targets

Repairs:

• Major building elements

• Membrane and shingle roof systems

• Window, door, and related hardware

• Lock sets and cuts keys

• Various floor coverings

• Bathroom partitions and hardware

• Wall coverings and painted surfaces

• Performs other tasks assigned

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent

The following certifications/designations are considered an asset

• Confined Space

• Working at Heights

• Journeyperson Carpenter

SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and understanding of:

• Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Teams.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and with minimal direction.

• Ability to lift 50 lbs. capability

• Must be able to achieve and maintain a Government of Canada Security Clearance.
