We are looking for a Buyer / Planner to join Primary responsibility is to manage the inbound supply chain of components and sub-assemblies to support the Mississauga build plan and service requirements. Responsible for planning and purchasing materials and services using MPS/MRP. Focus on-time delivery and schedule adherence while managing inventory to achieve optimal inventory levels and inventory turnover targets. Track monitor and expedite part shortages. Maintain good working relationships with all vendors while maintaining vendor accountability.

Responsibilities but not limited to the following:

  • SAP exception report is transmitted to suppliers and followed up.
  • Works within and follows the supply chain processes described and agreed upon in the Business Process Flows (BPFs).
  • Purchase order confirmation: PO Receipt, PO delivery dates, PO pricing confirmation.
  • Expediting & Shipment Tracking.
  • Order placing and confirmations.
  • Inventory Cycle Count Support; Monthly & Yearly, or as required.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure inventory targets are met.
  • Support vendor-free issue stock requirements. Identify requirements and needs that align with the current build plan and the timing of the production build plan.
  • Invoice and accounts payable reconciliation support.
  • Assist with Supplier Score Card raw data collection and preparation.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain the quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with terms of contracts.
  • Assist with the Maintenance of purchasing Info records if required.
  • Goods Receipt reconciliation.
  • Supply Line Agreement negotiation and implementation.
  • Provide timely, clear forecasting to all vendors.
  • Assist with the NCMR / RTV process.
  • Alternative sourcing proposals.
  • Coordinate with procurement & R&D on RFQ & implementation of product design changes via the VND/ECR process.
  • Yearly review of MRP parameters. Lot size, MOQ, lead times. Maintain accurate information and update as required.
  • Production planning activities to support Mississauga Production
  • Any other duties assigned by the Manager.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • 0-2 years preferred experience.

Specific skills:

  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter / Self-motivated.
  • Experience & good understanding of MRP/MPS
  • Good Understanding of Inventory methods & material flows.
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of the purchase-to-pay process.
  • Experience in purchasing and supporting equipment manufacturing: Low Volume / High Complexity.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supplier manufacturing process. (Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics)
  • Must have strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work with fellow team members as a team or individual to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-paced change management work environment.
  • Team Player who can lead.
