Our Toronto office is looking for a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join their team.

Duties:

  • Prepare and interpret CAD or BIM engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, building controls and fire protection).
  • Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports.
  • Site review and commissioning of building mechanical systems.
  • Prepare contract and tender documents.
  • Supervise, monitor and inspect mechanical installations and construction projects.
  • Other duties as required where appropriate for the position.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from a Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist program.
  • 0-2 years of work experience within the field is preferred.
  • A.Sc.T. or CET designation or able to obtain a technician or technologist designation is preferred.
  • Experience or skill in reviewing plans, specifications, and bid documents,
  • HVAC and plumbing fundamentals and knowledge of HVAC systems for commercial and industrial buildings
  • Ability to do the selection of mechanical and hydronic components will be an asset.
  • Attention to detail in building mechanical design.
  • Ability to work well with people including presenting presentations to customers and sales reps.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Demonstrated experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and AutoCAD/Revit
  • Highly organized with the ability to coordinate work across multiple teams and job sites.
  • Demonstrates superior English communication skills both oral and written.
