Building Code Services is responsible for administering and enforcing the Building Code Act and Ontario Building Code, including establishing operational policies and service delivery standards for the enforcement of the Act and Code, overseeing the enforcement of the Act and Code, and exercising the statutory powers and performing the duties assigned under the Act and Code. Building Code Services is also responsible for development, application and enforcement of various regulatory standards for development related structures and services, such as signs, municipal addressing, pool enclosures, etc., and the remediation of buildings formerly used as marijuana grow operations.
You are responsible for the provision of technical and operational support to the permit approval processes, the inspection processes, the compliance reporting service, access and release of building permit records and information, the enforcement processes, and claims response activities of the branch. You provide content expertise at all client service centers and respond to requests for service regarding branch services and activities including application processing, verification of civic addresses, inspections processes, appeal procedures, fees and charges, view and release of building permit records, agency letters of approval, compliance reporting, and enforcement and claims activities.
Completion of 2 year community college diploma in Architectural / Urban and Regional Planning, Legal or Business / Public Administration
Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience directly related to providing customer service, including a minimum of 1 year in delivering services related to permits, inspections, compliance or enforcement
