Nasittuq is currently bidding on the contract for the Operation & Maintenance of the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

This job posting is being advertised in advance of award of a contract. Employment is contingent upon Nasittuq being awarded the contract.

The Operations Manager is responsible with coordinating the implementation of the NWS Business Plan and for 24/7 watch keeping of the NWS.

  • Prepare, implement, and administer an NWS Control and Monitoring Plan
  • Produce Prime Mission Equipment availability reports for submission
  • Coordinate and plan for equipment scheduled maintenance
  • Ensure the effective operation of prime mission equipment, the development of regular preventive maintenance schedules, and the provision of resources for the corrective maintenance operation
  • Ensure that all security and safety programs meet the contractual requirements


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a field directly related to the requirements of the NWS SOW
  • Ten (10) years direct experience in your field
  • Three (3) years’ experience managing an operations or technical services function
  • Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
  • Computer literate in MS applications, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must be Canadian citizens, be eligible and maintain Level (II) SECRET security clearance.
