Be our next Junior Environmental/Geotechnical Field Technician!

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Earth & Environmental team, based in Sudbury, ON office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Project coordination, fieldwork, and reporting for a variety of sites in northeastern Ontario using standard field methodologies and protocols under guidance of senior engineers/professionals.
• Writing clear and concise field inspection reports.
• Reviewing laboratory and field inspection reports.
• Executing field work including, but not limited to.
• Groundwater and surface water sampling.
• Test pit and borehole drilling supervision and sample logging (both geotechnical and geo-environmental).
• Water level measurements, and piezometer readings.
• Environmental Site Assessments and site inspection (Phase I and Phase II).

What your experience looks like

• Environmental/Geological/Civil Technician or Technology Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Natural Sciences (Earth Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering).
• 1+ years of related field experience.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) in English, French an asset.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of AutoCAD, gINT, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be comfortable working in the field on construction and mining project sites and traveling out of town, possibly for several days' duration.
• Strong people skills and ability to work with the wide variety of staff and clients.
• A valid Canadian driver's license is required and access to a vehicle is desired (mileage allowance is provided).
