Xello is looking for a DevOps Engineer

Who are you?
Working as part of the DevOps team, you will be responsible for building solutions that directly support the availability, performance, scalability, and security of Xello. You will also leverage technologies and processes that enable Xello's product developers to maximize release velocity in a fast-paced SaaS environment.

What you’ll do…

  • Measure service level indicators and implement solutions to ensure service level objectives are consistently met
  • Take ownership and accountability for the incident response process
  • Interface with other technical teams to evaluate needs and optimize/automate build and release processes
  • Keep an eye on infrastructure costs and suggest and implement cost-savings strategies
  • Participate in disaster recovery and incident management, including regular drills
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Coordinate capacity planning through the use of monitoring tools and load testing tools to ensure Xello's capacity stays ahead of demand
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in DevOps and SRE and level others up within the engineering organization
  • Protect the confidential and private information that you may come in to contact with in the course of your work and uphold the ethics and integrity of Xello’s code of conduct

What we’re looking for…

  • 3+ years in DevOps or SRE
  • Experience in a Microsoft Azure environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CI/CD and tools such as Jenkins or Octopus
  • Infrastructure as code experience for deploying and managing cloud systems
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
  • Curiosity. You're not happy until you know the root cause. You're not afraid to probe deep into problem areas
  • Solid understanding in availability and uptime, disaster recovery, release management, and security best practices
  • Passionate about continuous improvement through automation and the use of data
  • University or College degree with a technical major, such as Engineering or Computer Science
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive attitude and a great team player
