We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations across our manufacturing facilities located nationwide. The National Maintenance Director will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure maximum equipment reliability and uptime. This position requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and technical expertise to drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices and efficiency. #LI-Hybrid #LI-VB1

This position covers the Greater Toronto area.

KEY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs and strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability.
  • Lead and influence a team of maintenance managers and technicians across multiple locations, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve maintenance objectives.
  • Establish maintenance standards, policies, and procedures to promote consistency and efficiency across all facilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and safety, to prioritize maintenance activities and address equipment reliability issues.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules and predictive maintenance techniques to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan. Including the implementation of the Asset Management platform.
  • Lead Bimbo Canada's fire prevention strategy towards a Zero incipient fire culture.
  • Develop local/low-cost suppliers for maintenance-related services.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in maintenance management to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability within the maintenance organization, promoting adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on maintenance performance, challenges, and initiatives.

PREFERRED HIRING CRITERIA:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical or electrical preferred. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Certification as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) would be an asset
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual is an asset but not required (French & English)
  • Proven track record of leadership and success in developing and implementing maintenance strategies and programs.
  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and systems, including mechanical, and electrical
  • Experience managing remote teams and multiple facilities.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or other preventative maintenance software
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, develop innovative solutions, and drive results.
  • Effective presentation skills both formally and informally.
  • Must be knowledgeable and be able to follow GMPs, Food Safety and Health and Safety requirements.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office, Outlook and Excel.
  • Experience with food processing, CFIA and HACCP would be an asset.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally 30% - 50% as required.
