In this role, you will:

  • Conducts pre and post project delivery inspections to determine work required and review quality of work completed.
  • Assists with scheduling of trades and deliveries in coordination with project schedule.
  • Assists in maintaining project files, checklists, schedules and other documentation as directed.
  • Reads and reviews architectural drawings to ensure project details are implemented;
  • Inspects and reports concerns in quality workmanship
  • Troubleshoots in collaboration project team on technical and administrative issues;
  • Solves trade schedule issues as they arise while maintaining target delivery dates;
  • Assists PM to review and approve 'extras' work;
  • Maintains the highest standards of quality workmanship and ensures proper house-keeping;
  • Communicates and deals with the trades with regards to their deficiencies;
  • Conducts quality control inspections at various stages of construction.
  • Conducts H&S inspections, upholds safety standards, records and files H&S documentation as required.
  • Schedules inspections to facilitate building permit requirements, electrical, mechanical and structural engineering review as required
  • Communicates and coordinates with operational personnel, other team members, construction and property management to ensure project objectives are met at all levels;
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by management

We would like you to have:

  • 2 to 5 years experience in a construction environment
  • A college diploma, in an appropriate construction or project management-related field is considered an asset;
  • Level 1 First Aid, are considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Well versed with applicable building codes, Health & Safety and WSIB regulations;
  • Ability to understand and interpret drawings and specifications;
  • Ability to work well with customers, trades, fellow employees and managers;
  • Self-motivated, strong analytical skills and detail-oriented;
  • Positive, courteous and able to foster strong relationships with cross-department employees and trade partners
  • Ability to work under a fast-paced environment and able to work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Creative problem solver, persuasive, and able to motivate workers to complete work on time
  • Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Microsoft Project considered an asset;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must have driver's license in good standing; and personal vehicle in good working order.
