We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Administrator to join our growing team in Vaughan Ontario. If you are passionate about administrative functions - especially tracking of information and keeping files in-order for compliance purposes, then we want to meet you!

The Health and Safety Coordinator reports to the Manager of Health & Safety. The role of the Health and Safety Coordinator is to ensure that paperwork related to optimal operations of the safety department is managed and is well organized in a timely manner. This include organizing, filing, and producing documentation for the safety department which includes any documentation produced by the Specialists, site teams or as required by the Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Health and Safety Administrator is responsible for completing and/or filing;

  • Safety orientation documentation for new workers
  • Document and file reports of the inspection conditions issued by the JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) or Specialists
  • Manage training rosters and training sessions, while forecasting training needs
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
  • Keep stock of pre-qualifying safety packages
  • Participate in and Manage joint health and safety committee (JHSC) documentation
  • Support the management of all ISO, CSA, COR, ISNet, ComplyWorks, Safe Contractor, Risk Check or any other compliance requirements
  • Support the management of worker injury and compensation requirements including modified duties and return to work
  • Support the documentation of reports to the authorities
  • Participating in the weekly safety department call in meeting
  • Prepare safety materials related to safety initiative in the upcoming calendar
  • Participate in and Manage the Fire Safety Planning, organization and drills
  • Any other support that the Specialists, Coordinators, or Manager requires

Qualifications and Job Requirements:

  • Administrative Assistant, Secretarial or Office Assistant education is an asset
  • Proven experience as an office administrator, administrative assistant or relevant role is preferred
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Accurate typing skills and demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel, WORD and PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of office management procedures as it relates to compliance documentation
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Energetic team player with a strong work ethic and a customer focus
  • Integrity and the willingness to own scope of work and associated issues
  • Willingness and analytical ability to solve problems
