Due to the significant growth of the business, we are looking to add a Construction Project Coordinator to our team. Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, and working with various project managers, this position will be involved in the coordination of multiple projects at any given time. This will involve hands-on participation in all aspects of the job including the ordering of materials, coordinating delivery of materials to job sites, maintaining inventory, preparation for construction meetings and project close-out reports. This position will be located at our Head Office in Innerkip, however the individual must be flexible to travel outside home region for business related purposes.

What you can expect:

  • Ordering & coordinating delivery of materials to head office and various job sites
  • Build and Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Conduct research to make recommendations on the best quality materials, products and prices
  • Create purchase orders, track orders and compare product deliveries with the issued purchase order to ensure there are no discrepancies.
  • Responsible for construction parts inventory, including keeping up to date inventory records
  • Interaction with contractors, engineers, owners and other Project Managers.
  • Regular job site visits providing hands on assistance as needed
  • Attending construction meetings with appropriate follow up in order to resolve issues and ensure plan progress.
  • Creating AutoCAD based drawings for internal coordination and external approvals as required
  • Assembling shop drawings packages and managing submission and approvals from clients and engineers as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary education in a related field such as civil engineering technology or construction management
  • Strong ability to read and understand blueprints and specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to liaise with clients and consultants in the management of site staff and subcontractors in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent customer-service skills
  • Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office Suite and AutoCAD required.
  • 2 to 5 years AutoCAD experience, Project experience in the Construction Industry considered an asset.
  • Valid G drivers license
  • Flexible to travel within Canada
  • Ability to work in a team environment along with strong management skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, and effectively prioritizing multiple responsibilities.
  • Detail oriented, effective problem solving with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Highly motivated self-starter
