Summary of position:

The supervisor is responsible for managing employees, organizing work and providing tools, equipment to employees in its sector to achieve production objectives in a context of optimizing efficiency while respecting quality and safety standards.

Main responsibilities:

• Participate in human resources management activities for employees in their area (collective agreement administration, performance management, training, work schedule management, health and safety, etc.)
• Develop the versatility and competence of staff
• Promote compliance with occupational health and safety standards and regulations within the team.
• Identify the equipment and supplies required to perform the work.
• Coach and advise employees in their industry on improving methods, equipment performance and product quality.
• Lead industry working groups to drive process improvement and reduce initiative production costs.
• Maintain a friendly work environment, while motivating employees to meet quality standards and achieve production goals.

Qualifications:

• College diploma in aircraft maintenance or training in an appropriate area.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar management role
• Managing in a unionized environment
• Ability to motivate and engage employees towards a common goal
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to promote teamwork and employee accountability
• Results oriented and dedicated to continuous process improvement
• Knowledge of Windows environment
• Bilingualism is an asset
• Experience in the aviation industry is an asset
