Description

By joining our team, you will be asked to contribute to the various stages of project execution, from proposal to site supervision and the commissioning of equipment in industrial distribution systems, including feasibility studies, detailed engineering, equipment specifications and site surveys. Among other tasks, you will be expected to apply established calculation and design methods when preparing plans, lists of materials, lists of cables, technical specifications and estimates. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of professional service and maintaining positive client relationships.

The incumbent will be expected to:

  • Oversee business relationships with clients and the quality of professional services.
  • Lead the preparation and help draft proposals.
  • Lead and carry out electrical engineering projects for industrial clients.
  • Develop and implement work methods.
  • Prepare, draft and produce study reports.
  • Oversee the design of power distribution for industrial complexes and provide final approval for associated engineering documents.
  • Perform technical project management (design reviews, costs, schedules).
  • Share your technical knowledge with young engineers on the team to prepare the next generation of technical professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • From 4 to 10 years of relevant experience in power distribution systems (medium and low voltage)
  • Available to travel between the Mont-Saint-Hilaire and Montréal offices
  • Available for short-term (mandatory) and long-term (asset) assignments outside our offices
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical installation safety
  • In-depth knowledge of MV and HV equipment and apparatus
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical equipment layout (electrical room, cable tray, outdoor substation)
  • Intermediate knowledge of work site safety (CNESST) and site supervision
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, MS Project, Excel)
  • Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written, and ability to draft technical documents in both languages
  • Asset: Knowledge of designing power distribution in classified areas.
