Team Leader - Drafting group

Your future role on our team

BBA is looking for a team leader for its Mont-Saint-Hilaire office for the Electrical Drafting group. You'll need advanced skills in AutoCAD, experience in technical drafting and the ability to manage a team of 5 to 10 people. In addition to your roles in team management and expertise coordination, you'll be working on a wide range of projects relating to renewables, power systems, power transmission and distribution, and plant services in the industrial sectors.

• Manage the team effectively and create a climate that fosters motivation and recognition.
• Ensure collaboration among team members, disciplines and project management.
• Promote quality by applying the BBA's and clients' standards.
• Manage, advise, guide and support your team members.
• Plan, carry out and follow up on employee evaluation or development meetings and establish performance objectives.
• Provide feedback to your direct reports.
• Identify skills development and training needs and assess and follow up with career plans.
• Participate in the hiring process and be responsable for the onboarding of new members.
• Monitor productivity and work quality.
• Assign projects to the team.
• Attend bi-monthly, short-term planning meetings for the Electrical team.
• Present the needs of the Electrical discipline to the CAD Support group.
• Improve dynamic block libraries and other internal tools.
• Implement an efficient work method.
• Produce various types of 2D electrical drawings in collaboration with project teams of engineers and designers.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Diploma of vocational studies in Building or Industrial Design or a diploma of college studies in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or in Architecture
• Seven or more years of relevant experience in the technical drawing industry
• Proficiency with AutoCAD
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Bilingual (English and French)
• Asset : experience managing work teams of at least 4 to 5 people
• Asset: Knowledge of 3D software, Revit, SmartPlant
