Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare the concept design and complete load calculations, schematics, equipment selection and system concept report.
  • Prepare the contract documents including the specifications.
  • Evaluate shop drawing reviews.
  • Ensure ASHRAE and LEED compliance where applicable.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines both internally and externally.
  • Engage in meetings with clients, contractors, and other consultants regarding project reports and findings
  • Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems.
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches.
  • Perform calculations, create specifications, and equipment selection.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Post-secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant discipline required.
  • Professional Engineering Designation (ing) required.
  • 4+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering for industrial, commercial, and/or institutional buildings.
  • Strong knowledge in HV substations, fire alarms, lighting, emergency power generation, MV and LV distribution systems, and large electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Ability to meet deadlines/successful completion of deliverables.
  • Highly effective conflict resolutions skills
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure on various tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
