Job Summary

The Data Product Manager is a key role in CNDS (CN Data Services) and interacts with its business stakeholders to meet its strategic objectives in delivering business value through effective processes and structured services. It interacts with cross-functional teams to understand business needs, define product roadmaps, and ensure the successful delivery of data solutions. The role works will play a pivotal role in our Data Engagement Team, overseeing the development and management of data products that drive efficiency, innovation, and strategic decision-making. The position supports the full lifecycle of the product and as such seeks regular customer feedback related to the product to understand and improve customer satisfaction.

Main Responsibilities

The Data Product Manager will be working on the following:

· Facilitate discussions with the business to clearly define the opportunity and/or problem to resolve and obtain high-level requirements.

· Leverage the right channels and processes to capture the demand, assess it, provide estimates and engage with the portfolio managers and business stakeholders

· Ensure adherence to operating model gates and engage with the relevant roles to process the demand and secure funding

· Collaborate with various CNDS services throughout the plan, build, deploy, and run phases to ensure that the solution aligns with both business requirements and the Data Product roadmap

· Maintain the continuous communication and the customer relationship with the business stakeholders along the process as one of the main CN Data Services representative

· Maintain intake of projects and enhancements

· Shape business cases and promote sponsorship

· Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and architects to drive collaboration and successful data product outcomes.

· Provide business leaders with insight into innovative technologies that can disrupt or enhance business models and capabilities

· Collaborate and coordinate with other Product Managers and stakeholders to avoid duplication and handle dependencies

· Engage with vendors to understand and influence their product evolution based on CN’s strategic needs

Requirements

Experience

· Between 10 to 15 years of overall work experience.

· Minimum 5 years of experience in product management or related roles.

· Demonstrated experience in engaging senior leaders and other stakeholders to support business decisions.

· Experience in shaping, building, scaling and sustaining products.

· Experience in diverse roles and increasing responsibilities across Business and I&T.

· Experience in transportation and logistics companies an asset.

Education/Certification/Designation

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration or an equivalent degree and experience

· Master’s degree in Engineering or Administration an asset
