As the Manager, Technology Strategy - Procurement reporting to the Director of Procurement, you will take a lead role and be accountable for a number of exciting areas.

You will be responsible for building and executing category management & procurement strategy for the technology services team. This covers all Information Technology (IT) Services including IT outsourcing, Business Process outsourcing, Contact Center outsourcing and Management Consulting.

Your leadership and business acumen will advance your team's trusted advisor capabilities, optimize spend and value for money, drive best practices and provide future-focused strategies to achieve TELUS' goal of becoming the most recommended company in the markets we serve.

Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to lead the Technology Services team and oversee the Technology Services category. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 6 procurement professionals, developing strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of technology services to support our organization's operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a high performance and highly engaged team culture by inspiring, coaching and development of team members to achieve their careers goals, and shaping the next generation of procurement professionals
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies for the Technology Services category to optimize costs and drive value for the organization
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and align procurement strategies with organizational goals
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities, drive process improvements, and implement best practices in procurement operations
  • Providing guidance and leadership to business leaders to deliver strategies and outcomes that are aligned to stakeholder and corporate priorities including customer experience, reliability and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) growth
  • Proactively driving continuous value add, process improvement, adoption of latest procurement technologies, and new best practices in sourcing, project management excellence
  • Advancing supplier partnership towards a focus on strategic opportunities to ensure a constant focus on TELUS business outcomes through the delivery of reliability and EBITDA improvements
  • Challenging the status quo by innovating upon and/or create best-in-class sourcing and project management practices

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
  • Strong negotiation skills, contract management expertise, and supplier relationship management experience
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools
  • Certification in procurement (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, SCMP) is preferred
