Your future role on our team

The incumbent will be responsible for establishing methods to adhere to schedules and for coordinating activities with clients and technical staff. Additionally, the incumbent will have to implement all necessary planning, scheduling and coordinating requirements.

  • Coordinate exploration database for monitoring and modelling purposes
  • Lead and perform geological and structural interpretation of mining projects using 3D software
  • Keep yourself informed of changes or developments in mineral resource estimation methods and reporting regulations
  • Act as qualified person for section of reports and technical studies (NI 43-101, preliminary, pre-feasibility and feasibility)
  • Support resource modelling and updating at client exploration sites or mining operations and provide solutions to problems that they may encounter
  • Lead quality audits of all geological aspects for advanced exploration or development projects (drilling, sampling, analysis, QA/QC and estimation of mineral resources) and ensure important recommendations are implemented

Training component (15% of time)

  • Plan and manage internal meetings with team members and external meetings with other stakeholders or subcontractors;
  • Ensure that information circulates within the team and that members provide appropriate information, produced within the required timeframe

Business Development component (5 to 10% of time)

  • Develop constructive business relationships during project execution in order to promote repeat business;
  • Promote the sale of cross-services to its existing clientele;
  • Promote BBA's geological services, both internally with colleagues and externally with our clients and future clients.

Corporate Component (5 to 10% of time)

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the Geological Group's strategies, in collaboration with senior management, to stimulate the development of the Geological Group;
  • Be involved in innovation, new service development and communication projects for the Geological Group.
  • Act as a mentor to young professionals within the group.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geological Engineering
  • Member of a professional association for geologists or engineers
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience, including 8 years in resource estimation
  • Extensive practical experience in mineral resource estimation for a variety of deposits as well as having been a Qualified Person (QP) on several occasions (please provide a reference list of technical reports you prepared as a QP)
  • Experience in managing databases, QA/QC protocols, geostatistical analyses and 2D and 3D modelling
  • Experience in establishing budgets, in estimating and in scheduling
  • Passion and aptitude for mentoring, training and sharing experiences with other team members
  • Proficient in using one of the specialized geological and mining modelling software applications, like Gems, Leapfrog, Surpac, Vulcan, Minesight, Datamine, etc.
  • Excellent ability for learning new software
  • Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written (English and French)
