We’re seeking a dynamic Procurement Specialist who has leadership skills. You must feel comfortable working in a consulting environment to meet the growing needs of our collaborators and clients.

  • Be constantly aware of project needs and the categories of goods and services required.
  • Be aware of the availability and capacity of key industry suppliers.
  • Meet with sales representatives and analyze market trends and indicators that may influence project costs and schedules for purchased goods and services.
  • Develop project-specific procurement strategies (procurement plan).
  • Provide leadership in the bidding process and in developing required documents.
  • Develop the bidder list.
  • Carry out pre-qualifications of suppliers and contractors.
  • Prepare, assemble and issue tender documents.
  • Manage and lead the addenda period.
  • Manage the receipt, opening and analysis of proposals.
  • Manage and lead the clarification period.
  • Prepare and formulate purchasing recommendations.
  • Prepare purchase orders and contracts and manage changes and revisions.
  • Organize and lead meetings with successful bidders.
  • Follow up with suppliers in a rigorous and documented manner.
  • Follow up on the progress of procurement packages depending on the procurement strategy.
  • Ensure compliance of assigned files.
  • Work closely with engineering, cost controllers, planners and estimators.
  • Help continually improve methods, tools, systems and procedures related to procurement, recovery and logistics.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

  • Advanced graduate diploma or certificate in supply chain management, DCS or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, DCS or bachelor’s degree in Administration
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a consulting engineering environment or any other equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experience in the heavy industry, mining and metals or energy sectors
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: Experience in international project procurement
  • Asset: Experience with logistics
