We are looking for an Electrical Engineering and Programming Engineer reporting to the Operational Technologies Team Leader to help us implement our various automation projects. In this role, you will have a major impact on maintaining and improving machine safety by participating in various equipment modernization projects within the company. You will be at the forefront of installing and modifying equipment such as robotic cells, presses and various other typical manufacturing equipment to ensure, among others, the application of CNESST occupational health and safety regulations (OHSR).

YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Participate in the selection, evaluation, implementation and start-up of technologies and equipment related to the automation, control and robotization of our processes, in collaboration with the production start-up and manufacturing operations project teams.
  • Draft, modify and seal technical documents such as electrical drawings for equipment designed or modified in house.
  • Maintain a technology watch and recommend automated systems and/or associated technologies that integrate our business processes and meet the company's present and future needs.
  • Act as an expert and guardian of good health and safety practices by participating in risk analyses of our robotized and automated systems to ensure compliance of operations projects with occupational health and safety regulations (OHSR).
  • Support operations staff (production, industrial engineering, maintenance) in problem solving (troubleshooting) and acquiring the technical knowledge needed to maintain the optimal performance of our automated systems.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automated production engineering, computer engineering, robotics engineering or other relevant training.
  • Registration as an engineer with the OIQ.
  • Knowledge (integration and programming) of Fanuc robots, products from the Rockwell Automation suite and ALLEN-BRADLEY PLCs.
  • Autonomy, rigour, discipline, analytical skills, the ability to synthesize and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
  • Good knowledge of the manufacturing sector, particularly welding, laser and painting processes, would be an asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential to be able to read and understand our equipment documentation, discover innovative ways of doing things, and talk to our suppliers around the world.
