Structure & New Technologies Development Engineer

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

• Be an integral part of the Structure and Materials key competence group.
• Find and explore new manufacturing technologies, materials and processes.
• Prove the concept of these new technologies/materials/processes on targeted vehicle applications. Not limited to EV, ( Ex ; Marine vehicle hull manufacturing technologies, Ski-doo chassis molded structural components, etc.)
• Support vehicle development teams with structural component development methodology and integration of new technologies/materials.
• Participate in the development of product architectures and ensure the integration of structural components and processes into different products;
• Participate in the establishment of performance criteria, draw up concept validation plans and ensure their execution;
• Create/support a database on processes and characterization of metallic materials to guide the various vehicle engineering teams.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES: :

• Ability to work in a project start-up environment with objectives in the process of being defined;
• Skilled at working in a multidisciplinary environment;
• A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in product design.
• Experience in product architecture, with a full development cycle from prototype to production phases;
• Relevant experience in the design of mechanical components;
• Bilingual French and English in both verbal and written communication.
• Good knowledge of the principles of operation and construction of the various mechanical systems of a motor vehicle, as well as a strong interest in these vehicles;
• Good understanding of the mechanical principles, tolerances and resistance of materials;
• Good knowledge of different manufacturing processes and materials.
• Mastery of stress calculation tools, test data processing and life prediction.
• The necessary interest to implement predictive calculation tools in the fields entrusted to you.
• Able to provide innovative solutions while optimizing the reliability and cost of their systems.
