JOURNEYMAN IRONWORKER

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Unload or stack steel parts
  • Erect and install scaffolding, hoisting equipment, and rigging
  • Assemble and erect modules, vessels and fabricated stick build metal structures to engineered and quality standards
  • Rigging of steel beams columns/pipe and signal cranes
  • Align and weld or bolt steel units in place
  • Assemble and erect pre-fabricated metal structures
  • Examine structures and equipment for deterioration, defects, or non-compliance with specifications
  • Dismantle structures and equipment when required
  • Understand and follow all company & site safety protocols
  • Inspection and safe use of all equipment tools and vehicles

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Valid Red Seal or Journeyman Certificate (Trade credential must be recognized in Saskatchewan)
  • OSSA Fall Protection and EWP tickets required
  • Permit Training is an asset
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to self and others
  • Perform heavy maintenance work involving climbing, rigging, and exposure to high pressure hydraulic and pneumatic systems in accordance with all company safety procedures
  • Ability to Work Safely at Heights
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, read and interpret blue print drawings
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Demonstrate practical problem solving ability
  • Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Rotations: 14&7 (Shift Cycle is subject to change)
  • Day or Night Shift
  • Travel is required
  • Camp accommodations
  • Ability to lift and carry objects independently or as a team
  • Ability to meet and maintain site access requirements
