SCOPE OF POSITION


The Hydraulics Mechanic is responsible for maintaining hydraulic equipment, new hydraulic circuits, as well as servicing a wide range of light duty equipment including marine equipment, ATV's, trucks, generators, shop equipment and more. The successful candidate will work with other shop staff to maintain the overall equipment fleet as well as build new equipment for ConeTec while maintaining a safe, clean and effective work environment to ensure operational efficiency is met.


ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS


General Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the shop and yard are clean and safe work environments at all times.
  • Servicing and maintaining light trucks, auxiliary equipment and heavy equipment.
  • Disassembling and repairing hydraulic pumps, motors, and related parts.
  • Performing troubleshooting and assisting with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Carry out operations with accountability and transparent communication; we work as a team.
  • Assisting field operations as required.


Health & Safety

  • Identify with and respect ConeTec's safety culture, first and foremost.
  • Ensure proper preparation and knowledge of all necessary safe operating procedures before beginning any job.
  • Report any safety-related incidents, infractions, or near misses to the Project Manager and the HSE Officer, immediately.
  • Know and follow the incident reporting protocol at all times.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED


Education Requirements

  • High School diploma and/or GED


Experience Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant experience working with hydraulic systems.
  • Welding ticket or experience is an asset.
  • Strong electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills are an asset.
  • Driver's license (minimum Class 5) and clean driving record.
  • Commercial Driver's License is an asset.


Technical Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency with computers - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving heavy materials up to 50 lbs, climbing, crawling as well as walking on uneven ground, and working long hours in all weather conditions.


Soft Skill Requirements

  • Must possess a strong work ethic and represent the company in a professional manner.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must be responsible and work well independently or in a team setting with minimal supervision.
  • Must enjoy working outdoors and travelling for extended periods of time.
  • Must enjoy performing a wide variety of duties and be able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
