Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson

Irving Forest Products, Inc, a growing company on the leading edge of technology in the sawmill industry.

We are currently seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson for a current opportunity. We are looking for safety oriented, energetic individuals to join our team!

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Associate’s Degree in Electrical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or an equivalent degree
  • Years of Experience preferred:
    • 2-5 years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities with electrical controls, power distribution (high and low voltage), programmable logic controllers and variable frequency drives is essential
  • Able to read and understand electrical drawings
  • Ability to work rotating shift
  • Previous sawmill experience is considered as asset
  • Ability to work independently or part of a team a must

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all site electrical systems are maintained in good working order in an effort to maximize the efficiency of mill equipment
  • Installing, repairing, troubleshooting and maintaining electric motors, scanners, drives, and PLC's on equipment used in the sawmill processes
  • Maintain site network, to include maintaining, upgrading and new systems
  • Responding to requests from both the Production Supervisors and the Maintenance Supervisor
  • Committing to and always promoting the use of safe practices
