A Day in the Life
· Manage and maintain budgets
· Engage in planning and executing work procedures; interpret specifications, coordinate various phases of construction to prevent delays, and review change orders to ensure additional work is properly completed
· Confer with employees, inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods
· Learn, grow and develop the Glazing department
· Qualify bids
· Consult with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve issues
· Represent company in new business opportunities through contact with individuals who are a critical part of new project opportunities. Secure follow up work with existing clients based on past performance.
Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience working as a Project Manager; Commercial Glazing, general contracting and/or building envelope background preferred
- 4-year degree from a recognized construction management, architectural, engineering, or business program or 5+ years industry-specific related experience
· Proficiency in MS office package, including MS Project
· Strong organizational and communication skills
· Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities
· Strong negotiation skills
· Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
