Test Engineering Technologist Salary: $38.50- $45 Vanacy: Add Job Purpose Plan, Execute, Analyze, Lead. Our Development Engineering team is a global engineering team focused on developing new products, technologies that will deliver robust repeatable solutions for our customers. We develop these solutions through building on our core products and creating new products to enter new markets. To accelerate time-to-market with effective solutions that keep our customers in the lead, we leverage a powerful risk prioritized product development process. The Test Engineering Technologist plays a critical role by working within the Innovation and Sustainability Team, helping to bring physical testing results to component and system designs. This is a great role within Husky and the successful candidate will be able to see many facets of the company gaining a deep understanding of the developmental engineering process. This role can therefore also be a great foundation for future roles. Key Responsibilities Plan, Execute, Analyze and Lead on System Level and Part-Quality related testing for new Product Development initiatives by establishing baseline process, cycle time limits, process window limits, and performing systematic process troubleshooting for all part quality and system defects Support the development testing of new applications/materials (eg. BioResins, rPET, Multilayer PET and Packaging, Medical, etc) Contribute to development of Process Guidelines and Best Practices and assist with establishing pass/fail criteria for new applications as required Participate in up front risk identification efforts through FMEA or other Participate in test plan review and contribute to improve reliability of data Challenge design performance and robustness, identify issues and opportunities for improvement up to and including system level Support customer startups/Early Adopters through system buyoff/acceptance and Product Launch Team support. Critical Capabilities Initiative/motivation Flexibility Attention to detail Willingness to travel Communication skills Subject Matter Expertise (Breadth and Depth of Knowledge) related to Plastic Processing/Part Quality optimization with specific focus on Packaging Applications/Resins Committed to delivering results Integrity and Respect Teamwork Requirements EDUCATION BS in Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Polymer Science background preferred Experience Required : 5+ years of experience testing and troubleshooting of complex mechanical systems 5+ years of experience working in project teams, with both external and internal customers 5+ years experience with Plastic Processing/Part quality optimization; Thinwall Packaging process experience considered a pre-requisite, experience with PET Preforms, Closures, Medical applications is beneficial Desired Excellent understanding of fluid power and electrical schematic Experience with data analysis and writing technical reports Previous hands-on experience operating Husky Injection Molding machines Knowledge of Instrumentation setup and Data Acquisition for sensors including Pressure Transducers, Flow Meters, Thermocouples, Thermal Cameras, etc. Qualifications Strong organizational skills Demonstrated knowledge of Plastics Processing (Thinwall Packaging, PET, Closures, Medical, etc) Strong Knowledege in electrical , mechanical and fluid power systems Ability to work independently and to be part of a multidisciplinary team Ability to balance multiple initiatives with unique schedules and needs Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.
