At JBS Equipment, we're looking for a hands-on Maintenance & Mechanical Repair Technician to join our team in Mission, BC. We design, and manufacture industry-leading agricultural equipment used around the world. We’re a growing company with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and keeping our operations running efficiently. The right person would be someone that is mechanically inclined and an all around experienced handyman. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment in our facility, including our fabrication and manufacturing shop. This includes everything from employee tools and forklifts to welding machines, compressors, and more. This position will begin on day shift for training, and transition into afternoons. Responsibilities: Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on shop tools, forklifts, welding machines, air compressors, cranes, and more Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues Maintain and repair general facility systems (lighting, plumbing, air systems, doors, etc.) Arrange and coordinate third party equipment service and inspections Support production with supply and management of equipment and shop consumables Keep maintenance records and plan repair work to reduce shop downtime Ensure shop areas, tools, and equipment are kept in safe working order Support safety and cleanliness across the facility Continued development of maintenance plans for our equipment Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role or comparable experience Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues Organized, with strong communication skills Millwright, including red seal or apprentices, are an asset Previous supervisory experience and skills are an asset Required to supply basic set of tools and rolling tool box within 30 days of employment Working Conditions: Work takes place both indoors and outdoors Daily standing, walking, and use of ladders or tools Exposure to grease, oil, hydraulic fluid, paint, dust, and loud noise PPE required in shop areas Schedule: Monday to Friday, either 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm

Requirements

At least five years of experience in a similar role or comparable experience is required, along with strong equipment troubleshooting ability, organization, and communication skills. Millwright training or certification, supervisory experience, and the ability to provide basic tools and a rolling toolbox within 30 days are assets or stated requirements.
