Position Title: Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician

Role Type: Permanent - Local Position (Non-Camp/Non-FIFO)

Location: Taiganova, Fort McMurray, Alberta

Work Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 12-hour day shifts

What I will be doing?
  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a variety of heavy-duty on and off-road equipment.
  • Accurately complete work orders and ensure billing aligns with Acden MRM standards.
  • Work closely with the Lead Hand to manage service requests and ensure timely job completion.
  • Train, support, and mentor apprentices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records of all work performed.
  • Ensure safe work practices are followed at all times and attend required safety meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service truck and work areas.
  • Manage inventory of parts and tools in the service truck.
  • Follow ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 procedures, including reporting non-conformances.
  • Participate in customer satisfaction efforts and quality assurance processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What does Acden need from me?
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician certification (Red Seal or Alberta Trade Qualification).
  • 5 years' experience as a Field Service Technician working on heavy duty on & off-road equipment.
  • Proven experience in diagnostics and repairs of heavy-duty equipment.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and OH&S guidelines.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal communication and documentation skills.
  • Physically fit to handle the demands of the job (e.g., lifting, bending, standing, climbing).
  • Strong computer literacy, including diagnostic and reporting tools.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Willingness to follow all Acden MRM policies, procedures, and ISO standards.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
What are the "nice to haves"?
  • Experience working in a dealership or third-party maintenance environment is preferred.
  • Previous customer service or public-facing maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Licence with Air Brakes is an asset.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and 14001 management systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with Acden MRM or similar operations is an asset.
  • Involvement in promoting or supporting customer satisfaction surveys is an asset.
