Overview:
WHO YOU ARE AT PANASONIC CANADA:
Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Operations and Maintenance – Technical Coordinator.
The ideal candidate will monitor and optimize solar asset performance by responding to system alarms, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring accurate reporting of energy production and operational data. This role also supports field operations and client communications while maintaining system records, scheduling services, and assisting with troubleshooting, commissioning, and technical analysis of solar PV systems.
This is a full-time position.
This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.
This role will require work on weekends on a rotating basis.
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada at the time of application. Please note, Panasonic Canada Inc. does not offer sponsorship to individuals for the purpose of obtaining temporary work permit/visa or permanent residency.
Responsibilities:
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Daily monitoring of solar assets to ensure proper operation
- Respond to alarms and malfunctions of power plants and issue work orders
- Contact portfolio owners to request truck roll authorization
- Evaluate and record monthly energy production for solar projects and identify underperformance issues
- Create monthly and annual system performance reports
- Consolidate and review preventive and corrective maintenance reports
- Assist in maintaining database of site information and historical work performed
- Assist in preparing estimates, schedules, specifications and reports
- Support with daily scheduling
- Contact clients and building tenants to schedule service calls
- Contact suppliers to request quotes and prices
- Technically support field technicians as needed
- Support field technicians on site during peak time conducting corrective and preventive maintenance
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and SLDs
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and site modifications when required
- Other job duties as assigned
Qualifications:
MUST-HAVES:
- Required education: A Diploma in Renewable energy Engineering technology or higher
- Must have basic understanding of Solar PV systems
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organization and interpersonal skills
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Knowledge of solar PV systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of ESA requirements and electrical safety standards
WHAT YOU’LL EARN:
The annual wage range for this position is $47,000 -$73,000 CAD.
In addition, the position of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Operations and Maintenance – Technical Coordinator is eligible for a maximum annual bonus of 5% of the base salary based on achievement of predetermined objectives.
Actual compensation offered to the selected incumbent will vary depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills and experience related to the role.
