Role Description The Camera Install Technician is a full-time hybrid role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, with a mix of on-site work at customer locations and some work-from-home tasks such as documentation and remote support. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing, configuring, and testing camera systems, monitors, lighting, and related components on vehicles and equipment, following technical diagrams and safety standards. The technician will route and terminate cabling, perform system checks, diagnose and resolve issues, and ensure proper integration with existing equipment. The role involves interacting with customers on-site, explaining system operation, answering technical questions, and providing courteous service that supports safety and productivity goals. The Camera Install Technician will also complete installation reports, maintain tools and inventory, and collaborate with the technical and sales teams to support project delivery. Qualifications Strong troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing hardware, wiring, and configuration issues, and implementing effective solutions. Effective communication skills to explain technical information clearly, collaborate with teammates, and provide updates to customers and supervisors. Customer service and customer satisfaction focus, with the ability to build professional relationships, listen to needs, and ensure a positive installation experience. Hands-on cabling experience, including routing, securing, terminating, and testing low-voltage wiring in vehicles, equipment, or industrial environments. Experience with installing cameras, sensors, or similar electronics on mobile or industrial equipment is an asset. Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, and ability to read simple schematics or installation diagrams. Comfort working in field environments (e.g., construction, mining, industrial sites) while following safety procedures and using appropriate PPE. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the Greater Toronto Area to customer locations. Organizational skills to manage multiple installations, maintain accurate records, and meet project timelines. Relevant technical training or certification in electronics, automotive, electrical, or related fields is an asset.
