Position Overview
Reporting to the Regional Survey Manager, the Construction Surveyor will be responsible for performing a variety of field survey activities on industrial and construction projects throughout the Fort McMurray region.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, motivated, reliable, and experienced working independently or leading small crews in the field. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while continuing to develop your technical survey knowledge and field experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete field survey work accurately and efficiently
- Perform construction layout and as-built surveys
- Maintain accurate field notes and documentation
- Ensure compliance with company and client safety programs
- Maintain communication with Project Managers and field teams
- Participate in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives
- Safely maintain survey equipment and company vehicles
- Support and mentor junior crew members when required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of construction survey experience
- Experience in mining, industrial, or oil & gas environments is considered an asset
- Geomatics Technician diploma or equivalent experience is an asset
- Experience with Trimble GPS and Total Station equipment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and survey plans
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract
- CSTS, OSSA/BSO, H2S Alive, and First Aid certifications preferred
- Ground Disturbance certification considered an asset
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to safety
- Leadership or crew supervision experience is an asset
Work Conditions
Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and physically capable of performing field work in outdoor industrial environments.
