About the role
Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware. Instruct apprentices. Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt. Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades. Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs. Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment. Apprenticeship training: Level three apprenticeship training. Level four apprenticeship training. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling.
