Working for Pembina means working safely.   Overview: Pembina Pipeline’s Alberta Ethane Gathering System (AEGS) team is actively hiring a Field Operator for the Sherwood Park/Edmonton area. AEGS main field office is based in the Joffre, Alberta area and reporting to the Foreman, the Field Operator supports the safe and reliable operation of the AEGS—an integrated pipeline network critical to ethane transportation and downstream petrochemical markets. This role is responsible for day-to-day pipeline operations, monitoring, and maintenance activities, ensuring system integrity, regulatory compliance, and consistent product flow across the network. The Transmission & Extraction Operations assets are responsible for the safe, reliable, and compliant transportation and extraction of hydrocarbons across Pembina’s integrated pipeline and facilities network. The asset delivers critical connectivity between upstream supply and downstream markets while maintaining a strong focus on asset integrity, operational discipline, and regulatory excellence. Responsibilities may include but not limited to: Champion Pembina’s Zero by Choice safety culture and Life Saving Rules by embedding physical, psychological, and cyber safety into all work practices while taking personal accountability to maintain compliance, support audit readiness, proactively identify risks, and protect our people, assets, and data;  Execute all tasks in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner, in full compliance with Pembina policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices; Maintain the day-to-day operation of the AEGS pipeline system, including product movement, product quality control, facility inspections, pipeline integrity activities, and pigging operations; Perform and support routine and non-routine maintenance activities across pipeline infrastructure, facilities, and equipment to ensure safe and reliable system performance; Monitor system performance and respond to operational upsets or abnormal conditions, diagnose root causes, and take timely corrective action to restore normal operations; Coordinate, oversee, and manage contractors and third-party service providers, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Pembina’s standards and expectations; Support and respond to damage prevention and right-of-way activities, including Click Before You Dig requests, aerial patrol follow-up, and crossing agreements, ensuring the protection of pipeline assets; Engage with landowners, the public, and industry stakeholders, representing Pembina professionally while maintaining positive and respectful working relationships; Maintain pump stations, block valve sites, and assigned company vehicles in a clean, organized, and operationally ready condition; Demonstrate flexibility by supporting project work and travelling as required, including adapting to changing priorities and operational schedules; Participate in an on-call rotation, providing after-hours support to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the AEGS system; Contribute to and foster an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace, aligned with Pembina’s values; and Perform additional responsibilities and duties as required to support safe, efficient, and reliable pipeline operations. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; 10+ years of relevant pipeline or field operations experience; Demonstrated learning agility, with the ability to quickly acquire new technical knowledge, adapt to evolving systems, and apply learnings in a field-based environment; Strong ability to work independently with a high degree of ownership and self-direction, while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment; Experience with ground disturbance practices and underground facility locating is considered an asset. Proven ability to read and interpret pipeline construction drawings, schematics, and alignment sheets; Highly organized with strong attention to detail, able to manage competing priorities and adjust to changing operational demands; Collaborative mindset with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders; Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with operational systems; SAP knowledge is an asset;   Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information; and Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and the ability to work in a field-based environment.

  This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing which includes testing for marijuana metabolites. You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract.   The successful candidate must live within 50 km from Sherwood park, AB.  The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. The final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.    This position is scheduled to be posted until end of day: 07/07/2026.
