Job summary
The Automotive Service Installer works in a fast-paced Automotive Service Centre environment. The role includes oil and lube service, tire installation, tire rotation and balancing and light vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities:
- Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
- Diagnose mechanical & electrical issues. Complete brake, steering, suspension, tire & engine repair work.
- Perform oil changes, fluid services and preventative maintenance. Use scan tools and diagnosic equipment
- Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate. Working collaboratively.
- Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor. Maintain accurate repair notes and documentation.
- Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Requirements / Skills
This Postion requires you to be registered with Skilled Trades BC and have completed no less than 1 year of schooling and have no less than 6 months experience in a garage enviroment.
- Valid driver"s license for province of employment
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
- Ability to work shifts (days/week-ends) in a fast-paced environment
- Approachable & have great communication skills
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
- Knowledge of current automobile technology and be proficient at performing oil changes, tune-ups and inspections
- Have a solid foundational understanding of core mechanical and electrical systems and be able to diagnose and trouble shoot
- Ability to work effectively with computerized systems. A good working knowledge of COSTAR (considered an asset)
- Results-oriented & have a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (considered an asset)
- Own tools.
