About the role
Position Overview
The Air and Noise Technician supports the Environmental Engineering Division through a combination of field data collection, desktop data analysis, modelling, and reporting. This role is responsible for collecting, processing, analyzing, and presenting air quality and noise data in support of environmental assessments and regulatory submissions.
Responsibilities
- Conduct field investigation site visits for air emissions and noise projects in accordance with project scopes, regulatory and other requirements, and internal procedures
- Ensure accurate field notes, logs, and chain?of?custody documentation
- Compile, review, and validate field data
- Perform emission rate calculations, noise source characterization, and conduct air dispersion and noise modelling
- Perform other data analysis under the direction of Project Managers, and/or Engineers
- Prepare figures, tables, charts, and summaries for technical reports
- Communicate findings and data trends to project teams
- Support environmental assessments and regulatory submissions by preparing technical data and documentation in accordance with applicable federal, provincial, and municipal requirements
*Job Requirements *
- Diploma or degree in Environmental Technology, Environmental Science, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline
- Experience and competence with air emissions and noise assessments in Ontario for private development and industrial regulatory purposes.
- Experience and competence with STAMSON, AERMOD, and SoundPLAN (or CadnaA)
- Experience and competence with GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency with data handling, spreadsheets, and report preparation
- Ability to generate and improve upon efficient workflows using excel tools, coding, AI tools, GIS platforms
- Ability to work independently with guidance from senior staff
- Valid Ontario Class G driver?s licence and access to a vehicle
*Working Conditions *
- Work will be performed in both office (75%) and field environments (25%)
- Fieldwork involves exposure to varying weather conditions, rough terrain, construction sites, and active field operations
- Required to travel to project sites throughout Ontario.
- Must be able to lift and carry equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs).
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including hard hats, CSA-approved safety boots, high-visibility clothing, hearing protection, and other safety gear as applicable.

Pay: $25.00-$38.00 per hour
