Position: Maintenance Technician

Contract Type: Full-Time; 39 hrs/week

Monday to Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM & Friday:

7:30 AM - 2:45 PM

Duration of Position: Starts Immediately and is subject to a 6-month probationary period

Location: Maintenance Department (working at multiple locations throughout the district)

ABOUT THE POSITION: Grasslands Public Schools is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our skilled maintenance team. This role requires a conscientious, responsible, and hard-working individual who can perform general building, grounds, and equipment maintenance across multiple school sites.

This position will start Immediately and is subject to a 6-month probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

Public Schools website at:

Perform general repairs (carpentry, painting, playground equipment, cabinetry, safety equipment, desks, etc.) Perform grounds maintenance, including mowing and snow removal Monitor inventory levels and advise the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance Purchase, transport, and store materials efficiently Monitor inventory levels and advise the Manager of Facilities and Maintenance Maintain preventative maintenance systems and recommend corrective measures Assist other trades and supervise seasonal or casual staff as needed

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (post-secondary diploma in a relevant field preferred) Minimum 2 years of experience in a related area preferred Experience in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, painting, and grounds maintenance considered an asset Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
