The Opportunity
Leavitt Machinery is looking for a mechanically inclined Shop Technician (Heavy Equipment or Automotive Mechanic) to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. As the Shop Technician, you will be responsible for completing a variety of heavy equipment repair tasks required by our loyal customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
As the Shop Technician your key responsibilities will include:
Performing mechanical maintenance on a variety of material handling equipment and machinery Diagnosing and completing equipment repairs in a timely manner, providing a variety of repair options that best meet customer needs Tracking parts for ongoing service jobs Completing work order forms Communicating with the Shop Coordinator, Shop Lead, Service Manager, and Technical Support Center regarding service jobs and repair needs Proactively identifying maintenance and repair opportunities for equipment Following established warranty processes Assisting with shipping and receiving
Required Skills & Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:
At least 5 years of heavy equipment or automotive repair experience in a related industry Provincial Heavy Duty or Automotive Journeyperson’s ticket or a Relevant Red Seal Trade Certification Experience with hydraulics and diagnosing and servicing electric engines is a strong asset Previous aerial platform and lift truck experience an asset Strong communication skills, including the ability to partner effectively with external customers and internal stakeholders Excellent problem-solving skills and strong aptitude for learning and applying mechanical and technical concepts Strong work ethic and a positive attitude High school diploma Valid driver’s license

The base pay range for this role is: $45.00 to $56.00 per hour depending on experience.
This is an onsite role based in Edmonton, Alberta.
