About the role

Position Overview

The Signage Assembler is responsible for the assembly of custom signage products in accordance with detailed technical specifications. This role involves working with electrical and mechanical components, ensuring product quality, accuracy, and compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of interpreting technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and shop drawings.
  • Plan and execute assembly processes based on technical layouts and project requirements.
  • Perform electrical wiring tasks, including stripping, terminating, crimping, and routing wires.
  • Measure and align components accurately to ensure proper fit and finish.
  • Verify all materials (LEDs, power supplies, fabricated parts, adhesives, hardware) meet job specifications.
  • Assemble signage components using appropriate tools and methods, including fastening, bonding, and basic fabrication techniques.
  • Install and test LED lighting systems, ensuring correct voltage, functionality, and color specifications.
  • Conduct quality inspections to confirm structural integrity, alignment, finish quality, and electrical safety.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace in compliance with company Health & Safety policies and PPE requirements.
  • Report production issues, discrepancies, or missing components promptly to the Production Supervisor.
  • Support continuous improvement and perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand and power tools (e.g., drills, rivet guns, clamps).
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and mechanical assembly (considered an asset).
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation accurately.
  • High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and maneuver large signage components safely.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing / production plant environment.
  • Requires prolonged standing, lifting, and use of tools and equipment.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED required).

Experience

  • +1 year of experience in signage assembly or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and wiring layouts.
