About the Project:
The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometers farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components.
Position Overview:
TRP has a current vacancy for a RAM Specialist who will join our Systems Team. They will be part of the Trillium Rail Partners Systems Team, working closely with our Systems team members, engineering disciplines and other project team members on the ECWE project, delivering RAM deliverables to satisfy the Project Agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will apply RAM processes, and appropriate methods and techniques according to project agreements; applicable Rules, Regulations, and Standards; support the compliance of RAM processes; gathering and/or establishing RAM requirements for designs and supporting interface management activities; perform verifications / validation to confirm RAM requirements conformance. The main tasks include: Monitor RAM activities across the full system lifecycle, ensuring alignment with EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129, client requirements, and contract obligations. Review the designer’s RAM deliverables for adequacy, consistency, and contractual compliance. Monitor and assess the implementation of RAM processes across the V-cycle, including requirement decomposition, allocation, verification and validation. Conduct RAM analysis: Reliability Block Diagram (RBD), Failure Modes Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMEA/FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), FRACAS analysis, and Spare calculation. Define the RAM requirements in the Subcontractor/vendor’s technical specification to ensure their implementation meets project level RAM requirements. Review and challenge the subcontractor/vendor’s RAM deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Engineering Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Minimum 5 years of experience in Rail Systems Assurance & RAM. Professional Engineer registration with active membership in a professional engineering society is an advantage. Experience across the rail system lifecycle, with knowledge of EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129. Experience with ISO/IEC/IEEE-15288 Standard for Systems and Software Engineering processes. Understanding of RAM analysis, RAM demonstration, FRACAS, and lifecycle assurance in major rail infrastructure projects. Knowledge on MIL-HDBK-217 FN2, EN/IEC 60812, EN/IEC 60125 or similar standards. Experience with Reliability Analysis tools Isograph Reliability Workbench, ReliaSoft, Item Toolkit, Relex or similar tools. Experience with requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS) and assurance data governance. Understanding complex system architectures, interfaces, and multidisciplinary integration. Collaborative, structured, and proactive mindset, suited to high-profile, multi-party infrastructure programs
